The legendary Pathfinder: rugged, capable, tough. And good on gas. To maximize fuel efficiency, the frame, drivetrain, and even the climate control system are built with lightweight components. An aerodynamic exterior and the Xtronic CVT®—our most advanced transmission ever—also cut down its consumption. All this adds up to 26 MPG on the highway.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers seamless power with optimum fuel efficiency, so even heavy adventures are no match for the 2016 Pathfinder. The proof? It’s in the numbers: 260-hp, 240-lb-ft of torque, and up to 5,000 pound maximum towing capacity—the most standard towing in the class [*]. So whether you’re headed to the marina, hauling all your gear, or roughing it for the weekend, just hook up your boat, trailer or camper and go!
What kind of transmission do you put in the Next Gen SUV? The class-exclusive, next-generation Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), obviously. Pathfinder’s CVT eliminates gears by using a precisely machined metal drive chain instead of traditional fixed metal gears, which transfers power from the engine to the wheels far more effectively and smoothly. So whatever you ask from the engine, the CVT provides it by shifting seamlessly to give you the perfect speed, all while improving fuel economy.
No other SUV in its class gives you the choice of 2WD, 4WD, and Auto Modes. Turn the available All-Mode 4x4i Dial, located just behind the gearshift, to lock into 4WD on rough terrain and in varying weather. Turn it again to switch into 2WD for better mileage. The intuitive Auto Mode senses slippery roads or rough terrain and automatically adjusts power to each wheel. When things smooth out, it switches back to 2WD.

It’s got room, with a view. The available dual panorama moonroof stretches over all three rows of seats. Whether you’re in the city, on the highway, or cruising through the mountains, everyone has a great view.

Fill it up with seven passengers, and the Pathfinder® still has room for up to 16 cubic feet of cargo. Drop the 3rd row and you’ve got more than 47 cubic feet, or drop both the 2nd- and 3rd rows and you’ve got a virtually flat space with 79.8 cubic feet of cargo for your seriously big loads. There’s also a large under-floor storage area that keeps valuables out of sight. It’s easily accessed whether the 3rd-row is folded or upright, giving added cargo room even when you have seven passengers along for the ride.
The Nissan Pathfinder seats seven passengers, and everybody travels in style. Pathfinder offers loads of front headroom and legroom and class-exclusive reclining 3rd-row seats are standard. Rich leather-appointed seats (front and second rows), a wood-tone trim, and a Tri-Zone entertainment system with three screens are all available options for the ultimate in sophisticated adventure.
Old Man Winter never saw this one coming. Keep those mitts toasty even on the coldest days with an available class-exclusive heated steering wheel that warms up at the touch of a button.
The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with an available advanced Navigation System that gives you all the tools you need—like turn-by-turn voice guidance, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, and available SiriusXM Satellite Radio —to make every trip a snap.
When the kids are happy, you are happy, and that’s where the available Tri-Zone Entertainment System comes in. Up front, the driver and passenger can enjoy music. 2nd-row passengers can watch movies, play video games, plug in a laptop, all on dual 7-inch DVD monitors, listening on two wireless headsets. The entire system can be controlled through the touch-screen display on the dash.
Using four cameras, the available class-exclusive Around View® Monitor (AVM) creates a composite image of the 2016 Pathfinder from above and displays it on the touch-screen monitor. This helps visually confirm the vehicle’s position relative to the lines around parking spaces and the adjacent objects displayed on the monitor, allowing the driver to maneuver into parking spots with more ease.
TPMS uses an icon on your dash to notify you when tires aren't properly inflated. On certain trims, the Advanced Drive-Assist® Display tells you which specific tires are low. As you fill your tires, Easy-Fill Tire Alert lets you know—with a friendly beep—when they've got enough air.
Available Smart Auto Headlights turn on automatically in the dark, or after four swipes if you activate your wipers. They also know to switch on if you drive into a tunnel, but are clever enough to stay off in the shade. Pretty smart for headlights. You might even say brilliant.
When you need to stop in a hurry, the Anti-lock Braking System pumps the brakes faster than you possibly can, helping to prevent wheel lockup and maintain steering control.
